Many clients support the -install switch to have the client set itself up to start automatically when the machine is booted. Others do not support this feature, and must be manually inserted/deleted from the boot sequence scripts. Those client that do support -install, also support -uninstall to stop the client from automatically starting.

Before configuring the system to launch the client on boot, please ensure that it can start normally.

Note: many clients provide some form of feedback on successful -install and -uninstall. To suppress those messages, use the -quiet switch, but make sure to specify it *before* the -[un]install switch (for example: dnetc -quiet -install), because the options that follow -install are the ones that the client is then 'installed' with (this feature is not available everywhere).
