(Answer) (Category) distributed.net Faq-O-Matic : (Category) the Personal Proxy software : (Answer) How can I run the proxy hidden or in the tray on Win9x?
Under Windows NT, you can install the proxy as a service if you want it to run in a hidden manner. Under Win95/98, you can use one of the various 3rd party traying/hiding utilities that are available on the net.

I use a utility called Hide-It to do this. It puts an icon in the system tray which you can right-click on to hide/unhide taskbar buttons and even your desktop icons. It can be set to auto-hide apps when they start. It's freeware and works on 95/98/NT. http://www.expocenter.com/hideit/
