[Edit This Text] They keymaster is the central server for our network and ultimately tracks the work that is sent out or received.

The current keymaster hardware is:

  • 1RU Rackmount Dual-Opteron
  • FreeBSD
  • 20GB RAM
  • Supermicro H8DAR-T motherboard
  • onboard Adaptec HostRaid 6041
  • 3 x 1TB drives ZFS
Prior to that:
  • Dell PowerEdge 2550
  • 2U rack mount
  • Dual processor, Pentium III 927Mhz
  • 1GB RAM
  • 70GB SCSI RAID-5
  • Operating system is FreeBSD 4.5
  • Purchased 2001-05-09
The previous keymaster hardware (named Topanga):
  • Rack-Mount 4U Case
  • Asus P2B-LS motherboard. Intel Pentium II-400
  • Cheetah 18Gb Drive
  • 256Mb DIMM
  • Operating System is FreeBSD
  • Purchased 1999-07-15
Prior to then, the keymaster ran on bovine's personal desktop (named bovine.st.hmc.edu):
  • Operating system was Windows 98 and Windows 2000.
  • Put into service 1997, taken out of service 1999-07.
